IDP3 Preferences
The file 'idp3_preferences' is contained in the IDP3 main directory. This file is read when IDP3 starts. You may make a copy of this file, modify it, and put it in your working directory and IDP3 will read the local copy rather than the global copy. The preferences file allows the user to adjust various defaults as shown below. Some parameters may be edited on the fly (Edit Preferences) while others can only be changed in the idp3_preferences file before IDP3 is initialized.
Preferences that can only be changed in the idp3_preferences file:
- Specialized group menues can be turned on and off by setting the flags to be 1 or 0. The groups and their flags are:
- MIPS (dospitzer)
- EONS (doeons)
- FEPS (dofeps)
- IRS (doirs)
- default main window size (window may be resized with cursor if scroll option is not selected)
- blink control parameters (can be set in Blink Setup Widget)
- positions of all the 'positionable' widgets (see note in "Other Info")
- savepath - default path for saving output images and text files (automatically updated each time a file is saved)
- default roi zoom factor
- default size of the scrollable view header window
- size of postscript output in inches for Main and ROI prints
Preferences that can be changed on the fly in the File/Edit Preference menu on the Main Display Window:
- pixel origin (center of pixel or lower left corner)
- zoom interpolation type for main and ROI windows - Bicubic Sinc, Bilinear, Pixel Replication, Bicubic Spline.
The Bicubic Spline results are very similar to the Bicubic sync method although the edges appear a bit more smooth. Beware, Bicubic Spline takes about five times as long as Bicubic sync.
- zoom flux conservation - Flux per detector pixel area, Flux per resampled pixel area (Flux Conservation)
- shift interpoation - bicubic sinc, bilinear or bicubic damped sinc
- dezoom method for main window when dezooming by factors of 2, 3, 4, or 5. Options: mean, median, maximum, minimum
- world coordinate display: none, decimal degrees, or sexagesimal notation
- annotate ROI and Main Window Print: None, Minimum, Color Bar
- option to display path with filenames in show images and delete images widgets
- option to have scroll bars on the windows
- option to convert multi-extension fits files to simple fits files on output
- FITS Extension name: SCI
- Select which planes are loaded for multiextention data. * is all planes.
- x and y scaling on plots:Extended or Exact
- plot line width
- good pixel value in masks: 0
- ROI box size to specify a fixed box about center point(must be odd). The user can also click and drag as before. The default is 0.
- default image file filter for load image widget
- default list file filter for load list widget
- default parameter file filter for restore info
- number of bins for histogram: 500
- character delimiter for filenames which contain embedded blanks, used by the save parameters function.
- ascii character to identify comment lines in text output - radial profile, noise profile, or cross section
- Radial Profile Radius in pixels
- default x and y size of widgets: Build Mask, Show Images, Delete Images
- Mask Tolerance
- Radial Profile: Smooth Width, Background X and Y Offset
