MIPS_010a Detector aliveness

IOC-MIPS_010a     10170C
Title:   MIPS Detector Aliveness Check

Objective:   Determine that the MIPS detectors are alive and responsive.

Description:     1) Power on MIPS detector modules.
including flow / state diagram     2) Monitor voltages to check for nominal operation.
      3) Place scan mirror into dark position for each array and take 10 3-second integrations.
Send all 24um readouts to ground using "raw" mode.

Place in Schedule:     After aperture door is opened.
(relative to water shed events)

Required Conditions:     None.

Resources:

  duration (best estimate)         1 hr
  real time downlink (Y / N)         Y
  special post event actions (Y / N)         N

Outcome:
  description         Confirmation that detectors turn-on.
can proceed in parallel with other activity         Yes
must outcome be confirmed before next event / test /activity         Yes
method of confirmation (sensor TLM, data analysis, etc.)         Mainly sensor TLM as detectors may be saturated due to high
            levels of scattered background light.
The "readout-only" pixels in the 160um array will be
            very useful in this test.
estimate of data turn around if required for confirmation         12 hrs.
  Generates 30 DCEs

Unique or included in planned AOT?           Unique.

Contingency Plan:
"What if..."     If detectors cannot be powered up and found to be alive, serious fault checking of the MIPS will be required.
