MIPS_140a SED Slit Profile

IOC-MIPS_140a     New -- no sci req
Title:   MIPS SED mode slit profile

Objective:   To determine the position and profile of the SED mode slit.

Description:   Place a bright star on the SED slit. Step the scan mirror in 1/2 pixel steps (5") for a total of 15 steps (75") while performing the SED
AOT after each step. Integrate for a total of about 2 min in each AOT.

Place in Schedule:   After dust cover off

Required Conditions:   S/C pointing understood to <5" (TBR) and stable to <0.5" (TBR)
For 70 um performance, the backgrd radiance must be less than 1.0E-12 W/cm2/sr (< 12 K).
Need bright stars in the OPZ. a Boo and e Car are possibilities for a December launch date.

Resources:
  duration (best estimate) 40 min
  real time downlink  No
  special post event actions  No

Outcome:
description   1D map of SED slit and position of slit relative to PCRS.
can proceed in parallel with other activity   No, dedicated observing.
must outcome be confirmed before next event / test /activity   No, except yes before any further SED activities.
method of confirmation (sensor TLM, data analysis, etc.)   Data analysis
estimate of data turn around if required for confirmation

Unique or included in planned uplink or downlink/analysis tool     AOT and special IET

Contingency Plan:    Repeat, increasing range of scanning mirror and/or integration time.
