MIPS_325a Validate Params Scan

IOC-MIPS_325a     10740C,10830C,10840C,10850C,10860C
Title:   MIPS Scan AOT Validation

Objective:   Explore MIPS Scan AOT parameter space

Description:   Execute MIPS Scan AOTs for all available selectable parameters, or a sensible range.
Not all scan lengths need be tested -- do minimum, maximum, and several intermediate.

Can be the test same as:   Select final operational parameters
        Tune IPP file as needed

Several AORs will be constructed using each scan rate that will have :
      1) one forward and reverse minimum length scan legs for each of four available offsets (all scan rates)
      2) one forward and reverse maximum length scan legs for mimimum and maximum offsets (fast rate only)
      3) one X six forward and reverse medium length scan legs at two of four available offsets (fast rate only)
      4) do one instance of 1 for 3 cycles (slow rate only)

Place in Schedule:   After aperture door open
    After CTA/instrument cool down:
For 24um, the backgrd radiance must be less than 1.0E-11 W/cm2/sr (< 30K).
    For 70um, the backgrd radiance must be less than 1.0E-12 W/cm2/sr (< 12 K).
    For 160um, the backgrd radiance must be less than 5.4E-13 W/cm2/sr (< 6 K).
It may be possible to split this test into parts executed at different times based
on telescope temperature, but mapping in all three bands is optimal use of time.
Location of MIPS apertures must be completed.
Basic instrument commanding and functionality must have been confirmed.
After initial Scan AOT testing is complete.
Before final operational parameters are set and instrument tuning complete.

Required Conditions:   CTA and instrument at nominal operational temperature.
PCS performance:   Absolute pointing 10 arcsecs
        Scan stability nominal
        Offsetting nominal

Resources:

  duration (best estimate)         9.5 hrs
  real time downlink (Y / N)         No
special post event actions (Y / N)         No

Outcome:
description         Several scans at minimum, maximum, and intermediate lengths, each
using all three scan rates. Also, several small maps of varying numbers of
legs, cross scan offsets, and map cycles.
can proceed in parallel with other activity         No, dedicated observing.
must outcome be confirmed before next event / test /activity         No
method of confirmation (sensor TLM, data analysis, etc.)         Data analysis
estimate of data turn around if required for confirmation         48 hrs

Unique or included in planned uplink or downlink/analysis tool           Standard pipeline and data analysis tools.
            MIPS Scan AOT required

Contingency Plan:           Revisit uplink sequence/command expansion, or AOT design.
