Title:   Calibration of MIPS Stimulators Against Celestial Sources at 70 and 160 um

Objective:   Measure the output of the MIPS stimulators against the output of known stars.

Description:     Scan maps will be made of standard stars with stimulator flashes interspersed.
including flow / state diagram
Stimulator calibration at 70 and 160um
1)Make a scan map where a standard star is observed in both forward and
reverse scan directions using medium scan speed. Use 3 second exposures.
A scan will be 30' in length so that 2 stim flashes should be recorded in a given direction.
      2) Repeat five times.

Place in Schedule:   After aperture door is opened.
(relative to water shed events)

Required Conditions:   MIPS detector aliveness tests must have been performed.
Must be able to place a star in the width of a scan (5').
Backgrounds must be less than the equivalent of 200,000 photons/sec at 160um:
        160um <= 1.10E-07 W/m^2/sr
        or T<7.4K

Resources:

  duration (best estimate)         1.5hrs
  real time downlink (Y / N)         no
special post event actions (Y / N)         no
One forward/back scan genreates 344 DCEs between the two arrays.
A total of 1720 DCEs are generated in the complete test.

Outcome:
description         The conversion factor between instrument units and physical units will
            be available for stimulator observations.
can proceed in parallel with other activity       no, requires dedicated pointing.
must outcome be confirmed before next event / test /activity         no
method of confirmation (sensor TLM, data analysis, etc.)         data analysis
estimate of data turn around if required for confirmation         N/A

Unique or included in planned AOT?
            Uses scan map AOT.

Contingency Plan:
"What if..."           If the test fails, it must be repeated
