A set of EZqueries were performed on MIPS telemetry from a mission scenarios lf1 test. The following is a thorough summary of the results. For this test, my approach to viewing the telemetry was to load it into an Excel spreadsheet, format the data into columns, and then generate plots of each of the telemetry items. This is a cumbersome approach, and it only works on floating point and integer telemetry values. query.quick: F-2060 ERT DN %d AORID_KEY -- Hex identifier; just what you expect I-0310 ERT DN %d Number of DCEs in Exposure -- self-explanatory I-0061 ERT DN %d DCE_FrameCmd -- Make a plot of this item (0-70). It shows when we are collecting data and reveals the Itime. 61--30s DCEs; 21--10s DCEs; 9--4s DCEs; 7--3s DCEs; 4--AutoReady mode. I-0108 ERT DN %d CSMM Fine Position DAC -- It is useful to plot this item (0-30000). See my reference set of plots. From the plots, it is possible to recognize 24um small phot, 70um small phot, 160um small phot, and fast, medium, and slow forward and reverse scans. With ancillary data (I-1108), it is possible to predict the telemetry values for various observing modes using the table of values below. I-0109 ERT DN %d CSMM Coarse Position DAC -- Plot this item (7000-28000). This plot makes it easy to spot darks, 70 NF, and 70 SED observations and also to spot gaps when no data are being collected (scanpos=1 when we are collecting phot or scan data, scanpos=0 when we are idle). I-0305 ERT DN %d ScanPosIndex -- redundant info with CrsPosDAC. This is the easier format when the data are in table format, but it is harder to work with when the values are displayed in a plot. I-0304 ERT DN %d ScanStepCmd -- useful for differentiating between different scan and photometry modes. See summary table below. I-0312 ERT DN %d MIPSExpStat -- 3=RAW, 5=SUR, 4=NoExp. Good only for spotting RAW data, not for figuring out when you are taking data. I-0370 ERT DN %d SyncPulseCnt -- Good for counting DCEs and seeing DCE starts K-0290 ERT DN %d TotalErrors -- Good to plot, but the count might go really high during scan maps due to CSMM rollover errors. Be on the lookout for errors posted at other times. K-0288 ERT DN %d Last Error ID -- self-explanatory. It would be good to have a way of automatically searching for errors that are not due to CSMM rollover K-0289 ERT DN %d Last Error Parameter -- self-explanatory K-0279 ERT DN %d DiagColState -- 0=Idle, 1=InProgress, 2=DataReady (waiting to be dumped). This is useful for spotting anneals, but it does not tell you which array is being annealed. If we have timing problems during the anneals, this will tell us whether the data were ready before the dump was commanded. I do not have good drylabbing yet to predict the CSMM current as a function of scan mirror position, but that is not the real reason for examining this item. The key is to look at the housekeeping data every time that we command close to the hardstops and to look for sharp spikes, indicative of a bump against a hardstop. If evidence of a bump is seen, we will want to adjust the scanpos table to ensure that we are safely away from the hardstops since a prolonged bump against a hardstop would lead to safing of MIPS.
