Sequencer Site SIRTF IOC Activity c. 2002

CAID: MIPS-139 Title: SED Slit Location & Geometry (Coarse Survey)

System: MIPS Principal: jkeene Deputy:
Objective:
To determine in the position and orientation of
the SED slit relative to the PCRS.

Description:
Put the CSMM in its nominal SED position to
direct the light from a bright 70um source into
the SED optical train. Step the image across
across the slit by moving the S/C in 1/2 pixel
steps (5") for a total of 2' (24 steps and 25
integrations). Use the CSSM to chop 2' off
source (more if possible). Integrate 3 sec
each on and off source at each position.
Repeat at 5 positions along the slit.
Insert each scan above within standard FPS
"PCRS sandwich" measurements.

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   pipeline output. IT tool to measure spectral brightness and log it vs. CSMM position.

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   60 hours

Description: Brightest spectrum vs. CSMM position determined for both spacecraft pointings.

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   Data analysis, CSMM TLM.

Success criteria: Source spectrum appears for some CSMM position at both spacecraft pointings.

Contingency plan:  Must repeat after determining and correcting pointing problem.
