Objective

Measure the confusion due to 1) extragalactic sources at low background and 2) galactic cirrus at medium background. Do scan maps at 24, 70 and 160.

Description

Acquire one Medium Scan map at 24, 70 and 160: 1 degree and 8 scan legs, with half array overlap between legs to ensure redundancy at 160. The first field is low background. The second field is medium background with a known galactic cirrus.
1 degree scale is mandatory 1) to avoid extragalactic source clustering biases (aka cosmic variance) and 2) to check the properties of the measured cirrus with previous knowledge (e.g IRAS). Redundancy is mandatory to ensure a full 160 coverage.
Confusion will be derived in the maps 1) with extragalactic source density (source counts) and 2) aperture photometry measurements for the cirrus.

Data Collected

For each field: AOR for the LOW BACKGROUND FIELD: FIRBACK Marano Field (Dole et al, 2001). AOR for the MEDIUM BACKGROUND FIELD: Close to Draco Cirrus Field (Kiss et al, 2002).
