Sequencer Site SIRTF IOC Activity c. 2002

CAID: MIPS-275 Title: Photometry of a Circumstellar Disk

System: MIPS Principal: jstansberry Deputy: krs
Objective:
Initial validation of Phot/SR AOT. Verify
scientific validity of MIPS Photometry pipeline
products. Cross-calibration with SED
observations.
Possible ECO.

Description:
Acquire normal photometry AOT observations
at 24,
70, and 160um of an available, bright,
circumstellar disk with < 2' spatial extent.
Tailor integration time in each band to insure
good S/N in single DCEs (eg. > 5). Use at
least 3
cycles in each band regardless of whether
that is
needed to get the desired S/N in order to verify
correct behavior of the observatory and
pipeline
for multiple cycles.

This can serve as an ECO.

Day:   61.8006944444496 Suggested Order:   O800

Must be preceded by these activities (list by CAID):   MIPS-320, MIPS-322, MIPS-324

Place in Schedule:   After aperture door open MIPS CE and arrays operating normally. After commanding validation of the photometry AOT.

Priority:   Necessary

Conditions

Maximum telescope temperature: 6.5 K

Minimum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Should activity be repeated if focus changes?   No     Repeat if focus changes by 0 mm

Maximum absolute pointing uncertainty: 3 arcsec (1 sigma radial)

Maximum precision offset uncertainty: 1 arcsec  (1 sigma radial)

Observatory configuration: standard

Go/No Go criteria:

Resources

Duration:   30 minutes

Real time downlink:   No

Data Volume (uncompressed): 336 Mbits

List Blocks, AORs, SERs, IERs, or unique sequences required (uplink): AOR

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   standard pipeline output. False-color composite desireable for ERO.

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   8 hours

Description: Fully calibrated MIPS Photometry data products in three bands.

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   Data analysis

Success criteria: good S/N image obtained in all 3 bands, source present in all 3 images.

Contingency plan:  Revisit pipeline and/or AOT design depending on the nature of failure.

the SED activity, which is really a companion to this one, and should follow this one.
