Sequencer Site SIRTF IOC Activity c. 2002

CAID: MIPS-313 Title: 70um Narrow-Field Illum. Corr.

System: MIPS Principal: aalonso Deputy: dfrayer
Objective:
Determine the illumination correction for the
70um
narrow-field mode.

Description:
A 70um narrow-field photometry cluster-target
AOR
is specified with 3 second DCEs and 6
pointings in a rectangular pattern for a region
of sky free of bright 70um point-sources. This
observation will require about 18.5 minutes of
observing time.

Day:   65.5666666666657 Suggested Order:   P500

Must be preceded by these activities (list by CAID):

Place in Schedule:   MIPS CE, CSMM, stim operation nominal. CTA and MIPS temperatures stable and within range. At 9K the CTA background falls below about 1% of the medium sky background, so the CTA contribution can then be neglected.

Priority:   Necessary

Conditions

Maximum telescope temperature: 12 K

Minimum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Should activity be repeated if focus changes?   No     Repeat if focus changes by 0 mm

Maximum absolute pointing uncertainty: 3 arcsec (1 sigma radial)

Maximum precision offset uncertainty: 1 arcsec  (1 sigma radial)

Observatory configuration: standard

Go/No Go criteria:

Resources

Duration:   19 minutes

Real time downlink:   No

Data Volume (uncompressed): 179.5 Mbits

List Blocks, AORs, SERs, IERs, or unique sequences required (uplink):

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   standard pipeline

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   24 hours

Description: Ilumination corrections at each CSMM position for the 70um narrow-field photometry AOT are constructed via median filtering and compared to look for changes in illumination vs. CSMM position.

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   data analysis

Success criteria: High S/N Cs are produced and do not exhibit residuals from sources.

Contingency plan:  Re-observe at alternate field, observe for longer (10 second DCE) to increase S/N ratio.
