Sequencer Site SIRTF IOC Activity c. 2002

CAID: MIPS-323 Title: 70 um Ph/SR AOT Validation - final

System: MIPS Principal: alberto Deputy: cengelbracht
Objective:
Validate the MIPS Photometry AOT (70um) as ready
for beginning of science observations.

Description:
Execute MIPS Phot/SR AOT for a sensible range of
selectable parameters.
Can be the same as: Select final operational
parameters

Tune IPP file as needed
Several AORs will be constructed that will have :
1) 1 cycle small field/default scale for 3s, 10s
2) 1 cycle small field/fine scale for 3s, 10s
3) 1 cycle large field/default scale for 3s, 10s
4) 1 cycle large field/fine scale for 3s, 10s
5) do 1 - 4 with 3 cycles (3 s only)
6) raster map for 1 3x3 3 s only
7) do 1 for 20 cycles (10s only)

Day:   65.4375 Suggested Order:   P400

Must be preceded by these activities (list by CAID):   MIPS-322

Place in Schedule:   After preliminary AOT validation, aperture door open, CTA cooldown complete, focus stable, CSMM functioning, commanding checked. This should be the last task to validate the MIPS PH/SR 70um AOT for science observations.

Priority:   Necessary

Conditions

Maximum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Minimum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Should activity be repeated if focus changes?   Yes     Repeat if focus changes by 0 mm

Maximum absolute pointing uncertainty: 3 arcsec (1 sigma radial)

Maximum precision offset uncertainty: 0.5 arcsec  (1 sigma radial)

Observatory configuration: standard

Go/No Go criteria: good space weather

Resources

Duration:   186 minutes

Real time downlink:   No

Data Volume (uncompressed): 695 Mbits

List Blocks, AORs, SERs, IERs, or unique sequences required (uplink): Variety of AORs

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   interactive MIPS pipeline; image analysis; telemetry analysis

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   100 hours

Description: Standar Photometry AOTs for 70um (see MIPS Handbook for details).

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   image and telemetry analysis. Reasonable BCDs should be produced.

Success criteria: 70um MIPS PH/SR judged ready for commissioning. See SSC AOT Validation document by W. Mahoney (2001).

Contingency plan:  Photometry is one of the two main observing modes for MIPS. If this mode is not working properly, implement scan mapping observations instead.
