Objective

Validate that MIPS scan map AOT with slow scan rate is ready for the beginning of science operations.

Description

Execute MIPS slow scan map AOT for a wide range of parameter selections. Not all scan lengths will be exercised, only maximum, minimum and intermediate values.

Data Collected

This task is implemented by commanding the following medium scans: 1) one 1.5 deg leg with 0" offset 2) two 0.5 deg legs with 64" offset 3) two 0.5 deg legs with 148" offset and +3600 cross-scan map center offset 4) two 0.5 deg legs with 302" offset 5) one 6 deg leg with 0" offset 6) 4 0.5 deg legs with 276" forward offset and 111" reverse offset Individual exposures are 10 s in length for total integration time of 100 s per leg for 24 and 70 µm (10 s per leg for 160 µm. The target is NGC 2516 a star cluster with several members bright enough for 24 µm photospheric detection. It is presumed that extragalactic sources will provide the 70 and 160 µm targets.
