Sequencer Site SIRTF IOC Activity c. 2002

CAID: MIPS-353 Title: MIPS 24um Red Cross Calibration

System: MIPS Principal: dhines Deputy: cengelbracht, dfrayer, SStolovy
Objective:
Check cross calibration between MIPS 24um
camera and IRS Long.

Use same 24um target as IRS 191

Description:
This task uses a standard photometry AOT at
24um to observe a red, non-variable AGN with
no PAH features observed previously with ISO
SWS.

Repeated for check.

Day:   65.2083333333358 Suggested Order:   P200

Must be preceded by these activities (list by CAID):   MIPS-240, MIPS-350

Place in Schedule:   After aperture door open, After CTA/instrument cool down: For 24um, the backgrd radiance must be less than 1.0E-11 W/cm2/sr (< 30K). Before final operational parameters are set and instrument tuning complete.

Priority:   Necessary

Conditions

Maximum telescope temperature: 33 K

Minimum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Should activity be repeated if focus changes?   No     Repeat if focus changes by 0 mm

Maximum absolute pointing uncertainty: 10 arcsec (1 sigma radial)

Maximum precision offset uncertainty: 1.4 arcsec  (1 sigma radial)

Observatory configuration: standard

Go/No Go criteria: CE, MIPS, CSMM all working as expected

Resources

Duration:   24 minutes

Real time downlink:   No

Data Volume (uncompressed): 10 Mbits

List Blocks, AORs, SERs, IERs, or unique sequences required (uplink): Standard pipeline and data analysis tools. MIPS Phot/SR AOT required

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   MIPS pipeline; image analysis tools; telemetry analysis tools

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   36 hours

Description: Derive a monochromatic flux density based on best calibration data and color correction

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   Compare against spectrum acquired by IRS (IRS-191)

Success criteria: Derived MIPS 24um monochromatic flux density = flux density at 24um measured by IRS.

Contingency plan:

Additional Comments:
Check against spectral leak check data from MIPS 240. If no leak in MIPS 240, look at color correction and IRS calibration. Set caution flag for observers, and reobserve during routine calibration.
