Sequencer Site SIRTF IOC Activity c. 2002

CAID: MIPS-905 Title: Start-up Activities, Si & Ge

System: MIPS Principal: dmkelly Deputy: cengelbracht
Objective:
Prepare the MIPS Si and Ge arrays for science
operations by
executing a standard set of MIPS
turn-on tasks.

Description:
1) Turn on power to the combined electronics
   2) Transition from OFF to MIPS_OBSERVE
   3) Perform thermal anneals on all three
arrays
   4) Perform a Vrst Optimization on the 70um
and
160um arrays
   5) Point the telescope to the first desired
target
   6) Before beginning the next IOC task, wait
as
necessary until
10 minutes have elapsed since bias was
restored to the Ge
arrays and 30 minutes has elapsed since
the
CE power-on

Day:   42.2673611111168 Suggested Order:

Must be preceded by these activities (list by CAID):   MIPS-015

Place in Schedule:   At the start of each IOC campaign in which Ge measurements are planned

Priority:   Necessary

Conditions

Maximum telescope temperature: 15 K

Minimum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Should activity be repeated if focus changes?   No     Repeat if focus changes by 0 mm

Maximum absolute pointing uncertainty: 3600 arcsec (1 sigma radial)

Maximum precision offset uncertainty: 3600 arcsec  (1 sigma radial)

Observatory configuration: standard

Go/No Go criteria: Successful completion of MIPS-015

Resources

Duration:   35 minutes

Real time downlink:   No

Data Volume (uncompressed): 50 Mbits

List Blocks, AORs, SERs, IERs, or unique sequences required (uplink): Power-on blocks, thermal anneal and Vrst IERs

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   Analysis tool for determining optimum Vrst values and a spreadsheet for looking at the thermal diagnostic data

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   24 hours

Description: An automated tool will be developed for processing Vrst optimization data. We will run this tool on the data, and then we will determine whether new Vrst values are needed during the next power-up.

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   Visual inspection of the data and of the temperature telemetry

Success criteria: The Vrst test will be successful if we collect the appropriate amount of data, if the Ge array biases were turned on and off as expected, and if the stims turned on and off as expected.

Contingency plan:  If the Vrst optimization does not run properly, the commanding should be rechecked and corrected. If the anneal heaters fail to operate, we will need to switch to using bias boost or photon flood anneals.
