SIRTF IOC Activity

CAID: MIPS-919 Title: 160 um IC - routine, Phot AOR

System: MIPS Principal: aalonso Deputy: dfrayer
Objective:
To obtain IOC acceptable 160um photometry
illumination correction to be used on a regular
basis. This activity is a companion to the 160 um
Scan ROUTINE Phot AOR. The pair of activities will
allow us to determine the relative efficiency and
quality of illumination corrections created
using scan and photometry AORs.

Description:
A 3x3 square dither map (1 cycle) will be
obtained with 3 second DCEs in a region of the sky
chosen to avoid bright point sources. The offsets
will be larger than 300 arcseconds.
At each position there will be 12 images, so a
total of 108 images will be obtained each time
this task is executed. The map
will require about 21.0 minutes of observing time.

Day:   50.777777777781 Suggested Order:

Must be preceded by these activities (list by CAID):   MIPS-324

Place in Schedule:   Telescope temperature stable and appropiate for 160um observations. MIPS temperature stable. CSMM operational.

Priority:   Critical

Conditions

Maximum telescope temperature: 6.5 K

Minimum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Should activity be repeated if focus changes?   No     Repeat if focus changes by 0 mm

Maximum absolute pointing uncertainty: 3 arcsec (1 sigma radial)

Maximum precision offset uncertainty: 1 arcsec  (1 sigma radial)

Observatory configuration: standard

Go/No Go criteria: CSMM, CE, and stims and detectors must be operational, instrument and telescope temperatures must be stable

Resources

Duration:   21 minutes

Real time downlink:   No

Data Volume (uncompressed): 119.6 Mbits

List Blocks, AORs, SERs, IERs, or unique sequences required (uplink): phot AOR

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   pipeline software

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   24 hours

Description: A 160um IC to be used in photometry mode

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   Data analysis

Success criteria: Flats/I.C.s display no noticeable source residuals, have good S/N. Flattened/I.C.d FPS and AOT validation data sets have source signal independent of position in image.

Contingency plan:
