Sequencer Site SIRTF IOC Activity c. 2002

CAID: MIPS-990 Title: Shut-down Activities, Si only

System: MIPS Principal: dmkelly Deputy: cengelbracht
Objective:
Perform a standard set of MIPS tasks before
turning off
            the instrument.

Description:
1) Take a short exposure
   2) Perform thermal anneals on the 24um
array
   3) Pause 2m to allow the array to settle
   3) Take a short exposure
   4) Transition from MIPS_OBSERVE to OFF
   5) Turn off power to the combined
electronics

Day:   6.00277777778683 Suggested Order:

Must be preceded by these activities (list by CAID):   MIPS-900

Place in Schedule:   At the end of each IOC campaign in which Si but not Ge measurements are planned

Priority:   Necessary

Conditions

Maximum telescope temperature: 300 K

Minimum telescope temperature: 5.5 K

Should activity be repeated if focus changes?   No     Repeat if focus changes by 0 mm

Maximum absolute pointing uncertainty: 3600 arcsec (1 sigma radial)

Maximum precision offset uncertainty: 3600 arcsec  (1 sigma radial)

Observatory configuration: standard

Go/No Go criteria: Succesful completion of MIPS-015

Resources

Duration:   12 minutes

Real time downlink:   No

Data Volume (uncompressed): 17 Mbits

List Blocks, AORs, SERs, IERs, or unique sequences required (uplink): Power-off blocks, 24um thermal anneal IER

List Analysis tools required (downlink):   A spreadsheet for looking at the thermal diagnostic data

Outcome

Estimate of data turn around:   24 hours

Description: The thermal anneal temperatures will be plotted and examined

Can proceed in parallel with other activity: No

Must outcome be confirmed before next activity: No

Method of Confirmation:   Visual inspection of the data and of the temperature telemetry

Success criteria: The thermal anneals will be considered successful if the anneal heaters turn on and off as expected and if the array temperatures change as expected based on ground-based testing.

Contingency plan:  If the anneal heater fails to operate, we will need to switch to using bias boost or photon flood anneals.
