The focal plane surveys are being done in three phases: pre-coarse, coarse, and fine. The pre-coarse survey is using first light data and early observations (FPS candidate star observations) to find the location of the frame table entries to a goal of 5 arc seconds. The coarse surveys has a goal of finding the frame table entries to an accuracy of about 1 arc second. While the fine surveys have a goal of 0.28 to 0.14 arc seconds.
